10 Stupidly Hard Video Games Clearly Made By Sadists
3. Hitman 2: Silent Assassin
It was a toss-up whether to put Silent Assassin or Blood Money on this list, as some would argue SA was only difficult due to design flaws. While in Blood Money disguises allow you to enter new areas unnoticed they are near pointless in Silent Assassin, as going anywhere near an NPC results in them figuring out who you are (i.e. a notorious assassin trying to kill their boss) and shooting you to death. However, given it is possible to play-through Silent Assassin without being discovered (though I never managed to bloody do it), we'll assume the difficulty was deliberate. I'm a big fan of stealth games having platinum'ed Hitman: Absolution, Dishonoured, and the Splinter Cell ports, yet this game, this pineapple down the urethra of a game, not only distressed me to the point of abandoning it, but also made me act so violently at my TV my neighbour kicked my door down because he thought I was being attacked (true story). In the section I got up to (which may have actually been on the first level) I had to get over a wall and onto the heavily guarded grounds of a Mafia-guy's heavily guarded house. To do this one had to knock out the postman (or perhaps it was the milkman) outside and take his costume, before going through the only entrance in the wall. After doing this, a man on the other side of the wall would see me, realise who I was, and shoot me in the head. Repeat this seven times, circler round the entire outside wall, find the one other entrance, repeat the cycle seven times at this door, then, if you are very, very lucky, your neighbour might just break down your door too. You won't make it inside the base though. Although it isn't that famous for being hard in comparison to our other choices, it was difficult enough for my property to get damaged, so we can justify putting it on our list.
