10 Super Mario Facts You Probably Never Knew

8. Mario, Yoshi And Luigi All Have LEGO Brick Statues

Super Mario - Lego Mario If you thought the Nintendo domino special was an impressive feat back in 2012, there€™s a creation that€™s even better, and it involves a lot of LEGO bricks. In 2009, Brick Projects decided they€™d go all out and design a life-size Mario LEGO brick statue, comprising of 30,000 bricks for the plumber and a further 12,000 for the pedestal. It was unveiled at Game Mania, took 160 hours to complete, and then was sold as part of a charity auction on Ebay. But Mario isn€™t the only one to have been given some LEGO love as both Yoshi and Luigi were built as well. Although not as large as Mario, the two characters still used up plenty of bricks. For instance, Yoshi weighs in around 40 pounds, stands at 80cm tall €“ the same as Luigi €“ and is built from 16,000 bricks. Now, that€™s certainly a way to combine your childhood past-time with real-life work. Check out the video to see how it was done, plus you can visit their official Facebook page to keep up with all their other projects.
