10 Superheroes Overdue Great Video Games

7. Aquaman

Thor Sony Santa Monica
DC Comics

Another name recently thrust into the zeitgeist. Aquaman stems from a world that would work wonderfully in gaming - that of Atlantis.

It’s no secret he’s always been the butt of jokes in pop culture discourse, but his recent cinematic success has struck a big blow towards demolishing that perception.

He’s actually very powerful, and rich in interesting lore. His familial battle for the throne, and the challenge of presiding over his kingdom makes for great drama - as George R. R. Martin fans will attest. Gameplay could be well-integrated into this kind of narrative landscape, placing adversaries in prime stance for a player to take on while battling for the throne.

He is a creature of both land and sea, which helps diversify gameplay. His power to communicate with marine life, his strength, ability to breathe under water, and fight like a warrior with his trident all provide good groundwork for game developers to run away with. (Just as long as there's no repeat of the N64 game.)
