10 Superheroes Overdue Great Video Games
4. Superboy
Everyone may want a new Superman game, but the character's nigh-invulnerable status presents its own set of challenges in terms of gameplay.
Superboy has fewer powers (depending on the version), and thus it would be easier to strike the right balance between vulnerable and powerful for the player, without the same risk of disappointment which would arise from not providing fans with a faithful representation of power.
Again since this is a junior hero a system could be incorporated whereby the player gains experience as a hero through completing tasks and missions, and powers could be unlocked throughout the game.
A game such as this could even be a precursor to a Superman game, featuring the Clark Kent version of Superboy, similar to his representation in the Smallville TV series. A sequel could be built on from this, in which the gamer would play as an adult, experienced Superman, and further sequels could be considered if appropriate, with the Arkham series providing a useful template.
