10 Surprisingly Good Indie Horror Video Games Of 2016

8. Human

Another made by a one-man development team, something you couldn’t know only by playing it. Taking the front matter of “found footage discovered on the deep web”, Human is carried out from the perspective of a head-mounted camera, which gives interaction a particular tone. Paul, the cameraman in question, enters into an Alaskan research facility (we all know how nice and kind Arctic lands usually are, especially when things come off), tracking down long-ago uncommunicated employees.

Driven for the most part by hints of what happened, this can be completed in ten minutes flat. However, the stroll itself is not only the greatest reward, but the greatest promise. The worthiness of the game pivots on being the onset of something big, something that involves dark forces able to blur the line between reality and illusion. SpektraulStudios, the programmer, deploys too obvious, almost hackneyed clues, and the story seems underdone, but his major achievement is precisely what sustains his overture and the future of his project: an unreal, forbidding, terribly alluring environment.

A sequel is already on Steam Greenlight, and with the help of Outer Orbit Studios and very ambitious plans in mind, including 4 extra short games, it sounds like severely wicked stuff.
