10 Terrible Video Games You Didn't Realise Were Wildly Successful

2. Sonic The Hedgehog (2006)

Produced in commemoration of 15th anniversary of Sonic, this game was rushed. It was supposed to revive Sonic as a character so the younger generation could identify with, love, and enjoy the inconic blue hedgehog. Released for the PS3 and Xbox 360, Sonic The Hedgehog followed Sonic as he attempts to rescue Princess Elise after Dr. Eggman captures her. In the game you play as several primary and secondary characters such as Sonic, Silver, and Shadow. It sounds good on the surface, but the game got mostly negative reviews. There were long loading times, a messed up camera system, glitch after annoying glitch, a horrible plot, and no sense of direction whatsoever. It was just a downright horrible game. So how did it compare? It sold 400,000 copies in North America. That's not much, you say? Well, that was enough to get it re-released, which caused it to reach platinum level status.
