6. Silent Hill 2 - Pyramid Head
If Pyramid Head is the manifestation of James Sunderland's guilt over his wayward libido then... damn, son.
We knew we were in for a treat when we catch our first glimpses of Mr. Head in the early scenes of Konami's excellent sequel to Silent Hill. The weird nurse-monster gyration cutscene, the scraping of that massive sword dragging behind him...
What we didn't expect, however, was to fight him in a room small enough to be described as a studio apartment in London.
Combat isn't Silent Hill's strong point (well, in early entries) so it made for a claustrophobic, terror-inducing fight for your life.
Whilst the room may not look like it has room to swing the proverbial cat in it, Pyramid Head makes a damn good effort with that massive chopper of his.
Boss fights in Silent Hill games do admittedly come at random intervals, but this one was definitely unexpected. Unless someone spoils it for you, it's very easy to go in unprepared for this one.
