Rumours abound that AEW: Fight Forever will land sometime in 2023. The game was announced back in 2020, and might've even been worked on for a while before that. In other words, Yuke's will have had somewhere between 3-4 years of development time if it does come out next year.

Is that enough? Only time will tell, but there's a huge lesson to be learned from 2K. They rushed 2K20 out the door to disastrous results in late-2019, and that pushed the WWE series back. For 2K22, the devs actually took their time over things, and they produced a much better game for it.

AEW's title doesn't need to sprint out the door onto shelves. Nobody wants to see some crummy product that Yuke's need to patch the sh*t out of at a later date - taking time to polish everything up and ensure everything works sounds like a better strategy.

As the subheading says, greater development time = greater rewards.
