10 Things An Xbox Player Learned Playing Uncharted For The First Time

8. Anyone With A British Accent Honestly Can't Be Trusted

Oh those pesky Brits, with their nefarious schemes and their sullen demeanour, they're all villains at heart, aren't they?

As a Brit, I'd be lying if I said I haven't at least felt a minor natural compulsion for villainy in the 20 years I've been on this planet, but what is it with Hollywood's obsession with that aristocratic, old, Etonian accent? I suppose it does wreak of snobbery, arrogance and self-entitlement - all elements that can make up a fantastic villain - but Uncharted takes this cliché and cranks it up to eleven. Quite honestly, there's barely a Brit here that doesn't come equipped with some kind of morally dubious disposition.

Chloe is a faithful ally of Nate's (and a former flame too), but there are parts in Uncharted 2 where you can't help but question her loyalties. That makes sense considering the gaming equivalent of Lord Haw Haw tried to murder you and Sully in the previous game, (I'd develop Anglophobia for the same reasons, to be honest) but even Charlie Cutter isn't exempt from double crossing and mind control in Drake's Deception. That says nothing of the suited and booted English enemies hot on your heels for that entire title.

It's just a funny theme I suppose. Nothing too big, but something recurrent enough to deem as one of the series' more unrefined quirks.
