10 Things GTA 6 Can Learn From Red Dead Redemption 2
7. The Gore. The Beautiful Gore.
One of RDR2's most pleasant surprises is its really quite revolting level of goriness.
Though the original Red Dead Redemption boasted its fair share of blood-letting, it was pretty disappointing how GTA V actually felt like a step back from both RDR and Max Payne 3 when it came to the red stuff (though that didn't stop PC modders adding it back in).
Thankfully RDR2 is far closer to the unrestrained brutality of Rockstar's previous titles, with complex dismemberment mechanics which allow the player to hack and shoot a player's corpse mostly down to the bone.
Use a shotgun on an adversary up close and you'll see them instantly decapitated, which is pretty damn shocking the first time you witness it.
GTA 6 absolutely needs to retain this level of ferocious violence, especially given the ludicrous, visceral detail that next-gen consoles should allow. Is this a bit sick? Probably, but Rockstar's games just feel a bit incomplete without a headless corpse or ten.
