2. When You Had To Use MS DOS Prompt

Back in the Windows 95 era it wasn't uncommon to encounter slightly older, DOS-based games (often on 3.5" floppy disc) which would require you to faff about to make them work. Anyone who wanted to play Theme Park, Tie Fighter, Discworld, Monkey Island and Little Big Adventure will have bad memories of going through the MS DOS prompt and typing things like "d:\install" or "c:\tie.exe" to try and get things to run. It could be a nightmare and usually it required outside help (and not Google). In those days there was an incredibly high chance that any PC game you bought would not work. And you'd often have no idea why. Imagine the protests these days if that was the case.
