Makeup artist Tom Savini is one of the horror industry's most legendary figures, well known for his extensive gore effects in countless iconic horror movies, including the first and fourth Friday the 13th films.

Savini was primarily hired as a Visual Effects Supervisor for the game, which allowed him to give input on Jason's kills, and this ultimately extended to him also designing his own original version of Jason to be included in the game.

And so, "Savini Jason" was born, a fiery new iteration of Jason inspired by his trip to Hell at the end of the ninth film.

Controversially, however, the character was only made available to Kickstarter backers for a brief time, to the extent that some enterprising players ended up selling their backer accounts on eBay for hundreds of dollars.
