10 Things You Didn't Know About Wolfenstein

7. An Oscar-Winning Voice Actress

With the impressive performances in 2014's Wolfenstein: The New Order, it's no surprise the level of talent MachineGames employed for its first title in the franchise.

One notable name involved in production is Nina Polan. The Polish actress voiced the grandmother of Blazkowicz' love interest, Anya Oliwa. Despite not being a major role in the game, Polan enjoyed a long career of stage, film and dance productions prior.

Polan became known after achieving her biggest role in 1982, when she appeared in the Oscar-winning movie Sophie's Choice. After achieving a Golden Medal for Merit to Culture in her home country, the actress-turned theatre director passed away in the year of The New Order's release.

With little initial focus on the character she brought to life in the game, most fans of the franchise would be unaware of the high level of voice acting MachineGames attracted for its initial Wolfenstein venture.
