10 All-Time Best Zombie Games That We All Love

9. Zombies Ate My Neighbors

You wouldn't expect two kids to be a major threat to the zombie masses but Zombies Ate My Neighbors proves you wrong. You also might not expect water guns and popsicles to be damaging against the undead hordes but you'd be wrong again. It's the tongue-in-cheek humour that Zombies Ate My Neighbors provides that has made it such a cult classic. Released way back in 1993 by LucasArts (someone at the company had obviously gotten bored of making Star Wars and Indiana Jones games), Zombies Ate My Neighbors featured Zeke and Julie as they tried to save their neighbors from being eaten by zombies (hence the title). The visuals in particular have stood the test of time thanks to some nice character models and variety of colours and it's a surprisingly competitive game in co-op with each player's score counted separately. Best of all, your weaponry included everyday items like tomatoes and silverware, as well as more traditionally damaging weapons like bazookas and explosives €“ it almost certainly provided inspiration for another game featured on this list. All this made Zombies Ate My Neighbors a creepy but fun game which people still haven't tired of; the game was eventually released on the Wii's Virtual Console thanks to sheer fan demand. It's also a reminder to avoid children as much as possible; their water guns are lethal.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
