What he sees isn€™t as strange as what Heather sees in the mirror room; instead, he sees a type of violence that€™s unnerving to witness in a videogame: rape. Pyramid Head is a creature whose purpose is to punish and execute its victims. For James, he attempts to murder him because he feels guilty for murdering his own wife. You have no idea what the two mannequins were guilty of that they deserved to be punished, but it's clear Pyramid Head shows no remorse in performing the horrific act. Perhaps Team Silent went with sexual assault because of its lack of portrayal in games, making this type of violence stick out more than simply more killing. Regardless, players now understand what the infamous Pyramid Head is capable of - even if they haven't learned what the creature symbolises for James at the time, they instinctively know to run away from it, at least whenever possible.
