Okay, let's see, it's an indie horror title with a unique sketchbook art style and a first person perspective, created by a developer without a Wikipedia page? It's safe to assume this will be an atmospheric, narrative walking-simulator, right? Well, not quite.

The gaming industry is awash with indie games that place you in a small-scale environment and tell a compelling story with straightforward mechanics. Not only does Mundaun fit that bill aesthetically, but the trailer itself all but confirmed you'd get that kind of experience.

Of course, those who have played the game will know there's much more to offer in this chilling Swiss tale than the trailer implies. Some elements it doesn't even acknowledge include the vehicle you travel in, the fact you can actively fight back against the terrifying creatures, and plenty of the later-stage environments that expand the game world.

Overall, this short teaser barely covers the first hour of gameplay. While Mundaun is hardly a massive Triple-A game, it at least offers a much deeper experience than anything you would expect from how it was advertised.
