10 Times Video Game Critics Got It Wrong

4. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Did any of the critics actually play Skyward Sword again after finishing it before reviewing it?

Considering the perfect review scores, it's hard to imagine that they did. Even though Skyward Sword is actually a pretty good game, it's easily the least popular Zelda game in recent memory, and for pretty good reason.

Despite having some of the best characterisation in a Zelda game (particularly for Link and Zelda), Skyward Sword had some of the most repetitive and boring gameplay in the series. Focusing on having motion controls for every action probably didn't help matters much either.

With such significant complaints, it's surprising that Skyward Sword managed to be both a nominee and winner of Game of the Year. Skyward Sword isn't a bad game in any regard, but it's certainly nowhere near as good as other games in the series, let alone the best game that year.

The Nintendo bias is starting to show a little guys...
