8. Getting Rid Of The Mako - Mass Effect 2

As widely lauded as the original Mass Effect was, it wasn't without its flaws, with perhaps the most widely-criticised element being the Mako - the six-wheeled vehicle which players use to explore planets.

The sheer tedium of the exploratory Mako missions was one thing, but what ultimately sunk the vehicle's inclusion in the first game was how clunky and awkward it was to control.

The complaints were vocal enough that BioWare responded in supremely reactionary fashion by removing the playable Mako from Mass Effect 2 and 3 entirely.

And yet, many fans still wanted to drive the Mako in the sequels - they just wanted it to feel more fun to drive, and not be used in such a boring, perfunctory gameplay loop.

BioWare did however finally answer fans' wishes in the series' fourth game, Mass Effect Andromeda, with the new Nomad proving to be a decidedly more user-friendly revision of the Mako - even accepting Andromeda's many issues elsewhere.
