10 Times YOU Made A Video Game Harder

7. Playing As Chris - Resident Evil

Resident Evil Chris
Capcom

The original Resident Evil allows players to control one of two S.T.A.R.S. team members - Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine.

You'd be forgiven for assuming that picking the more physically imposing Chris might make for an easier experience, but rather hilariously, the exact opposite is in fact true.

Though Chris has marginally more health than Jill, his disadvantages are myriad: he has two less inventory slots than Jill as can be a major headache for new players, he doesn't have a lockpick, he doesn't start with a gun, and he doesn't have Barry Burton showing up to periodically lend him a hand.

Jill also gets access to a more favourable selection of weapons throughout the game, generally resulting in a more streamlined, less-stressful experience, despite players perhaps assuming that the bigger, stronger protagonist might make for an easier time.
