5. The Troll

For those of you who don't understand the concept of memes, or trolling, a troll is someone who performs an action, merely for the purpose of enraging their intended target, to be amused by the reaction they have.

Now... on online forums or social media sites, such as Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, Reddit, etc., there's plenty of people who have made an art out of it, commonly posting outrageous and absurd things to get appropriate reactions all the time. However, what humbly began as a small meme has become the most noticeable of them all, and trolling has expanded from the internet to be used as a cure for boredom in various spaces.

Video games are not immune.

On the lovely site of YouTube, there are gems such as this one, by Minnesota Burns, who makes a habit of driving players insane and then posting the amusing results. Trolling in a FPS game can be anything from trapping a player in a corner, following them and firing your weapon as to constantly giving their position away, or carrying an objective to a position where it becomes all but impossible for the troll's team to win. In hardcore modes, they can be more direct - with friendly fire enabled, they'll just kill your ass.

However, you can shoot back.

The review of the troll is simple: if you don't allow yourself to provide them with the response they seek, they'll lose interest, it's that simple. Changing a lobby upon the game's end, or even counter-trolling the troll can work to great effect, however, of the entirety of this list, the troll is the least often encountered - most people just want to play the damn game.
