6. Fear Effect Reinvented

Just why a complete remake of the original Fear Effect hasn’t received more hype since its announcement last summer is anyone’s guess, but all that matters is it’s on its way at all.

The first Fear Effect was acclaimed for its script and writing, but the gameplay understandably received some negative reviews for clunkiness - an issue that’s not likely to persist in 2017.

This time around, Hana Tsu-Vachel, the loveable rogue with a questionable past (don’t you just love those in a main character) should be given the mechanics her story deserves, and that’s a very exciting prospect.

Fear Effect Reinvented is being developed by French studio Sushee, who are also responsible for the Kickstarter-funded Fear Effect Sedna, which also happens to boast Square Enix as its publisher, another reason to put faith in this returning hit.

It’s been 17 years since Fear Effect first landed on the Playstation, and while the younger audiences may not be able to appreciate the reboot coming their way, that just leaves more Fear Effect Reinvented for the rest of us.
