10 Underrated Recent Video Games That Deserve A Second Chance
2. XCOM 2
Despite being released way back in February on PC and Mac, I feel compelled to shout from the rooftops about XCOM 2 as it's finally made its way to consoles.
Naturally, developers Firaxis are the godfathers of turn-based strategy, and XCOM 2 continues the original's penchant for punishing you if you don't plan accordingly. The world has been taken over and ravaged by slave-loving aliens, you see, and that requires a rebellion to be formed, its actions being felt one mission at a time.
You'll create and customise multiple squad's worth of soldiers, train them, give them fancy weapons. You'll harvest the corpses of your foes and learn what they know, before slowly turning the tables on them at every turn.
All in all you'll get sucked into a surprisingly affecting narrative, as when Earth's under siege, no matter your colour or creed, you'll want to protect it.
