Another of a few action based third-person shooters on this list that have been mostly forgotten, The Bourne Conspiracy tells the story of protagonist Jason Bourne during the first film, The Bourne Identity, as well as exploring the backstory of the character prior to the events of the movie.

Excellent graphics for the time coupled with use of the movie’s soundtrack creates a fantastic level of immersion, while the incorporation of a detailed hand to hand combat system and varied takedowns makes this more than a mindless shooter.

Environmental takedowns also feature, and while the weapon aiming can be a little stiff at times, the cover-based shooting is solid. The game also adds context for some events in the film and adds new story elements that were not even present in the movie, adding value to the player beyond simply replaying the events of the film.

This then, is a must for Bourne fans, and is well worth revisiting.
