Sometimes video game difficulty spikes come not from a single enemy or level, but how multiple factors cross over. For example, The Legend Of Zelda, which throughout has a brilliant learning curve, becomes an utter hellscape for the unprepared in Level 6: The Dragon.

Here you'll come across three enemies which will immediately stand out as troublesome: Wizzrobes, Like Likes and Bubbles. Like Likes have a horrible habit of stealing your shield, Bubbles love to disable your sword for a bit and Wizzrobes, well they just love to spam magic at you like the little bastards they are.

Now, alone, these aren't too much of a challenge as the shield can block the spells, the sword is only missing temporarily and the Like Likes can't steal from you if you've cut them to ribbons. However, in this dungeon all three of them appear AT THE SAME TIME, which can result in you losing EVERYTHING and then your life in moments.

While not being the greatest challenge that Link will overcome in the game, it certainly acted as a "roll the dice and hope for the best moment".
