10 Unique Fast Travel Secrets You Totally Missed
4. Trains - Red Dead Redemption
Red Dead Redemption 2 offers two immersive means of fast travel in the form of carriages and trains. Now, Red Dead Redemption 1 may not include similar features, but just because you can't purchase a train ticket doesn't mean you can't fast-travel by train.
You just have to be more sneaky about it...
Similar to the trains in Red Read Redemption 2, the ones in the original game follow specific routes (called the red line and the blue line) that cover all of the major settlements on the map.
The trains rarely stop, and you can't enter them legitimately, but you can hop on top of them while riding on horseback to hitch a free ride.
If you know where the train is going and you manage to catch it in time, the ride can serve a very similar purpose to its sequel counterpart.
The train is faster than horses, doesn't use any stamina, and, best of all, it allows you to relax and observe the beautiful Wild West scenery as you speed past it.
And sure, it may not be as immersive as the first-person train rides in Red Dead Redemption 2, but on the other hand, it's free, so it all balances out in the end.
