10 Unnecessary Video Games So Bad You Forgot They Existed

5. Gears Of War Judgment

Sarcasm, apparently the lowest form of wit, can be funny when the mood serves. A witty retort, a snappy repartee, a pithy little punchline to cement a point.

Whereas in the hands of Epic, the same Epic behind guns with chainsaws, it certainly wore out its welcome rather quickly in Chandler-from-Friends surrogate, Damon Baird. Played in medias res, Baird is on trial for being a bit naughty during the wartime shenanigans against the Locust.

The problem is: nobody cared.

Baird was the wise-cracking support character from the get go, who's dialogue was 90% smug, and who quickly wore out his welcome.

As such, Judgment was geared (pun intended) to diehard fans to keep them Lancer-ing their own arms off in the interim between Gears 3 and 4.

You could answer that it "expanded on the lore of Gears", but to many it was just a spin-off that didn't handle as smoothly as its predecessors (and later successors). It did shift a million copies overall, but compared to its numbered main game counterparts, Judgment was inconsequential.
