10 Unnecessary Video Games So Bad You Forgot They Existed
4. Bioshock 2
Let's not beat around the bush here: the first Bioshock is a groundbreaking game. A brilliant pairing of masterful storytelling and immersive surroundings, it is worthy of much of its praise.
Its story, for most of the core narrative, was self-contained. It had a beginning, middle and end, and that should have been it. But perhaps somebody at 2K got a wee bit greedy and started throwing round sequel ideas for a cash grab some three years down the line.
This time round, you play as Subject Delta, one of the earliest Big Daddy's. Yet, it doesn't feel like it, as you handle as light as the protagonist of the first game, Jack. Whereas Jack has an subconscious motive and part in the overall story, Delta's story is just...there. It serves no overall purpose than just a hypothetical side-story that may or may not have happened in the ruins of Rapture.
Tacking on the same arbitrary, token good/bad endings of the first, it brought nothing new to the table other than another jaunt in Rapture. Play the Bioshock Infinite DLC instead.
