2. Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games: Tokyo 2020

Mario just can’t let his brother have anything, can he? Luigi’s Mansion might be one of the highest profile games on this list, but with Mario & Sonic due to get a boost next summer from the actual Olympic Games, Mario will probably have the longevity.

Luigi, of course, gets to go to Tokyo too, along with a handful of Mario and Sonic characters. Having initially released for the 2008 Beijing games, 2018’s Winter Olympics was the first time there was no corresponding Mario & Sonic release.

This time though, they’re back with a bang, bringing a host of new features while keeping the popular events from previous games... not that they have much say over what’s featured in the actual Olympics.

Karate, wall climbing, skateboarding and surfing are the new ones to have been pushed heaviest in the marketing, with skateboarding even getting a Dream Event - think the Olympics but on LSD.

There’s also a 2D feature, where you can play as 8-bit Mario characters or 16-bit Sonic characters. You know, if playing ping pong as an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog against a giant spiky turtle ever gets stale.
