10 Upcoming Video Game Movies That Are Destined To Fail

9. Half-Life

Half Life
Valve

A Half-Life movie could have worked about ten years ago. When the franchise was still riding high, a movie would have most likely made bank and would probably have been incredibly well received. Today, however, is a completely different story.

Fans want a game. And if Valve isn't going to deliver on the game, then let the franchise die. Don't cart it off into movie form. It would be the worst way to continue the franchise when fans are expecting a game version. You aren't going to be able to satiate fans, that have been waiting over a decade for the next instalment, with a movie.

It could be an incredible movie on its own merit, but in terms of bringing in the fanbase, it would be incredibly risky. Continuing the franchise in anyway would be difficult, but picking a movie to bear the brunt of such a monumental task would only spell disaster.

I like video games, writing and writing about video games. Expect sarcasm and the dry wit of a Brit. And the occasional rant of a unhappy Scot. You know... the usual.
