10 Upcoming Video Games In HUGE Trouble

Xbox Game Studios' upcoming reboot of the legendary FPS franchise Perfect Dark was announced at The Game Awards 2020 after several years of speculation, and though we know precious little about the game at present, the danger signs are already very much abundant.

Firstly, design director Drew Murray left developer The Initiative just two months after the game's official reveal, and last September it was announced that The Initiative would be teaming with Crystal Dynamics on development.

Daniel Neuburger, who helmed Crystal Dynamics' first two Tomb Raider reboot games, was appointed game director, though he ended up departing the project in February 2022.

Since then, reports have emerged of as much as half of the game's core dev team walking away, citing "a lack of creative autonomy and slow development progress."

Though Matt Booty, Head of Microsoft Studios, recently assured fans that the game was coming along well, is he really going to say anything else that might compound the already considerable amount of skepticism surrounding Perfect Dark?

Add to this the fact that we've not seen a scrap of gameplay yet, and it's tough to have faith in the undeniably talented dev team working on the game.
