10 Upcoming Video Games That Prove Single Player Is Far From Dead

6. The Walking Dead: The Final Season

Ghost Of Tsushima
Telltale

There are not many developers who can rival Telltale when it comes to narrative-centric games, and that is in most part down to their breakout success with The Walking Dead. What could've been a passionless licensing deal soon became a respectful interpretation of the hit comic-book series, creating a gripping story with likeable characters and difficult moral dilemmas.

But all good things to have to come to an end, and with the conclusive season looking to hit consoles this August, it seems like we'll finally get to see how our choices have impacted this zombified world and, more importantly, Clementine herself.

Having spent six years following this story, the final series will give the fans some much needed emotional payoff, hopefully bringing back some fan favourite characters and answering some of the most pressing over-arching questions of the franchise (seriously, where on Earth did Christa go?)

But regardless of emotional investment, Telltale's games are always home to rich storytelling that anyone can enjoy despite having played the previous episodes. The ideas of morality and the well-written characters are strong enough that jumping aboard now will do little to hamper your enjoyment, and with the concept of these games touting story above all else, it's an experience you won't be able to get in any multiplayer title.
