10 Upcoming Video Games To Look Out For In April 2017

7. Yooka-Laylee

What is it: Yooka-Laylee is a fan-funded love letter to the retro collect-a-thons of yesteryear, as crafted by the masters of the genre themselves. Developers Playtonic Games are a team made up of industry veterans from the golden era of Rare, before Microsoft sucked all the fun out of them like a creativity vampire.

Dual protagonists Yooka and Laylee are a lizard and a bat, out to stop the greedy Corporate B and his plan to transform every book in the world into pure profit. So it won't win any awards for writing, that's for sure.

Where the game will shine, however, is the gameplay. With massive open worlds with tons of collectible pages that can expand the current world or grow a new one, players will finally be able to hop n' bop, puzzle solve, and fly like it's 1999 again.

If you've ever played one of the all time greats like Conker's Bad Fur Day, Donkey Kong 64, or Banjo Kazooie, you'll know exactly what you're getting into.

When's it coming out: 11th of April for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. A Nintendo Switch release is planned for the future.
