10 Useless Video Game Abilities You WASTED Skill Points On

4. Any Lockpicking Ability - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Skyrim Lockpicking

The Lockpicking perk tree in Skyrim is a bit of a joke, given that players are able to pick any lock in the game without spending a single point on the perk.

It might take them a dozen lockpicks to open a Master lock, but Lockpicking is so mundane and purpose-devoid an "ability" that literally anything else is a better and more interesting point spend.

Given how quickly players will get the knack of picking locks in the game, and how little you'll benefit from the perk tree overall, it's an horrendously unimaginative way to distribute your resources. You're basically better off just ignoring the entire thing, honestly.
