10 Video Game Achievements That Take The Longest Time To Unlock
1. Seriously - Gears Of War
The "Seriously" achievements have a long-running history in the Gears of War franchise. Every new title in the series has its own "Seriously" achievement, and each new one becomes increasingly more difficult to accomplish.
It all started with the original "Seriously" achievement, which required the player to kill 10,000 enemies in ranked matches. Even if you were good at the game, it would take hours to get that many kills, and yet, when Gears of War 2 came along, the developers decided to rack the numbers up even further and increased the number of kills to 100,000.
From then on, the challenges for all the next "Seriously" achievements would keep getting more ridiculous and demanding.
Each new iteration of "Seriously" required you to fully complete the game and then some. A player would put in hundreds of hours into obtaining them and still be halfway through all the goals they needed to meet. The newest version in Gears 5, "Seriously 5.0", was even divided into chapters.
These achievements have obviously become a huge staple of the series, and no one could think of another Gears of War title without a "Seriously 6.0" thrown into the mix, but still... damn.
