10 Video Game Boss Battles That Left Us Disappointed

5. Lucien - Fable 2

Fair warning: having not played it myself, I cannot justifiably put this at the top of the list though many of you may feel it belongs there. Now, not having played any of the Fable games, I may not be in much of a position to criticise, but having heard so many negative things about the ending of Fable 2, I felt compelled to investigate just what it was that had put people on the verge of running over their own Xbox whilst setting their hair on fire for good measure. I mean, it couldn't be that bad, could it? Wrong. Now, some argue that the final boss within Fable 2 is actually the shard, but the consensus is that it poses practically no challenge at all €“ but more importantly, it's an object without personality. The shard didn't murder your sister, your dog, enslave you for fifteen years, try to kill you twice and want to end the world... that's Lucien. And what happens in the almighty climactic showdown against this behemoth of villainy? He gets shot, once, falls down and dies. The end. You really screwed the pooch on that one, Molyneux.

When not writing Chris spends more time thinking about playing videogames than actually playing them and can usually be found reorganizing his Blu Ray and book collections. He owns four different editions of A Song of Ice and Fire and no, it isn't overkill. He's left the neon haze of Tokyo and Seoul for the more sedate streets of Bournemouth.
