Kratos has tangled with a lot of bosses throughout his tenure as a murderous video game protagonist, almost all of which have been literal gods. Yet, despite battling against awesome deities like Hades, Baldur, and Zeus, it's the Queen of the Valkyries that is often accepted as the franchise's toughest foe.

Valkyries are incredible figures in Norse mythology, acting as servants of Odin who guide souls to Valhalla. As such, they are battle-ready, and anyone who played through the "Prove Your Valor" sidequest in 2018's God of War learned that the hard way.

The culmination of this quest is a fight with the Valkyrie Queen Sigrun, who hits like a truck and strikes like a viper. To get to her, you'll need to slay the eight Valkyries spread across the map, each with unique skill sets and attacks. Once you reach their Queen, you'll essentially be battling all eight of them again in one package.

Sigrun comes equipped with the special attacks of every Valkyrie, meaning she's ludicrously unpredictable. Learning her erratic attack patterns is a massive task, and one small slip-up will lead to her obliterating you.

This warrior maiden makes even Zeus look like a walk in the park.
