10 Video Game Bosses Who It Would Suck To Work For

4. The Lich King - Warcraft

The Lich King sits as the head of the Scourge, a vicious, undead army. The entity was specifically engineered by another malevolent presence, Kil'Jaeden, to use death as a tool to literally conquer worlds. So, under his employ you can expect to be ransacking innocent towns and cities all in servitude of your telepathic master. Every kill means he's only getting more powerful. That means no rewards, nor perks, nor promotion opportunities for you.

The events of the current expansion, Battle for Azeroth, have potentially put paid to the Lich King for the foreseeable future; Sylvanas Windrunner ripped the cursed helmet from current occupant Bolvar Fordragon's head and destroyed it. This opened up a portal above the frozen throne, setting the stage for the latest World of Warcraft expansion, Shadowlands.

Yes, this does mean no one is currently keeping the Scourge in check, as Bolvar was doing, and that meant players had some nasty undead to deal with. But there's no telling what releasing the deeply evil spirit of Ner'zhul will have done. Likewise, this does not necessarily mean that the Lich King, or some similar role, will be gone permanently. We're told that there must always be a Lich King, after all..
