10 Video Game Bosses Who It Would Suck To Work For

3. GLaDOS - Portal

Portal would simply be nowhere near as enjoyable without the accompaniment of sardonic series antagonist GLaDOS. The head-scratching puzzles players are tasked with are made all the more enjoyable as we puny humans are ridiculed hilariously by this uber-intelligent, ruthless AI.

However, perhaps the prospect of escaping is what makes our time as Portal players so fun. Think of the other (missing) test subjects that GLaDOS has driven mad with endless testing. Where is everyone else? What other inventions will we be tasked with testing to mind-bending limits? Will we ever get to use a lemon grenade?

Plus, she's not exactly a benevolent leader. After all, Chell is only able to escape with the remains of a beloved companion cube at the end of Portal 2 after GLaDOS decides its not worth trying to kill her again. Sure, this is pragmatic, but it doesn't exactly scream "supportive" manager.

In summary, GLaDOS is mean-spirited, sarcastic, often murderous, amoral, unhinged and power-hungry. Definitely some of the qualities you'd like to see in a video game boss, but perhaps not ones that you'd like your actual manager to have.

Inevitably talking about Into The Spiderverse. Lover of movies, books and games, not necessarily in that order. @Are_You_Shore I also co-host a podcast now! www.youtube.com/channel/UCKS4_sumDLinlzgdMBAZk7g
