1. Beldr - Devil Survivor

As anyone who has played Persona can attest, most games in the Shin Megami Tensei series are made on their unconventional, challenging, and often downright weird bosses.

And Devil Survivor is no exception to this rule, especially when it comes to Beldr, a strange silver demon who is based on the Norse god Balder.

Much like Balder, Beldr is invulnerable to seemingly everything, as the Norse myth states that Balder's mother Frigg made everything on Earth vow to never harm her child. That is, everything except Mistletoe, which Frigg left out of this pact as she thought it wasn't dangerous enough to warrant its compliance.

As such, mistletoe is also Beldr's only weakness, which is perhaps worrying to hear, as it's not exactly the kind of thing you're often expected to utilise in an RPG battle. However, you at this point should mercifully have the Devil's Fuge - a random phone strap you picked up, which also has mistletoe on it, and can use in the fight as a special move where you slap an enemy around with it.

While it's not the avenue most would immediately choose, it is remarkably rewarding to beat a borderline invulnerable god with only a poxy phone strap.
