When Capcom started working on Resident Evil: Village, they took special care to manufacture a truly captivating villain. Because Resident Evil has already carved out so many mesmerising baddies like Nemesis, Wesker, and Salazar, it was pretty ambitious to create another memorable antagonist.
But this new foe, Lady Alcina Dimitrescu, wasn't just popular - she was a global phenomenon. The instant she appeared in the RE: Village promos, fans were instantly infatuated with her.
Despite being a 9ft tall vampiric hedonist with Wolverine-like claws, Dimitrescu's luscious curves and seductive charm inspired more mods and Deviantart than you could possibly imagine (and many have).
Even though the insidious noblewoman is killed off reasonably early in the game, Capcom could see the positive reception towards Village before its release was directed towards Dimitrescu, which urged the company to shove the sadistic countess on posters, trailers, and all other forms of merchandise.
Even though a lot of gamers were disappointed the towering femme fatale didn't play a bigger role in the game like the advertisements implied, Dimitrescu has still become an icon in the Resident Evil universe.
