8. Pey'j - Beyond Good & Evil
Though Ubisoft's legendary action-adventure game Beyond Good and Evil appears to wrap up with a mostly happy ending, players who stuck it out through the end credits sequence actually learned otherwise.
Granted you can be forgiven for missing this considering that post-credits scenes weren't so common back in 2003, but if you turned the game off as soon as the credits popped, you missed out on a majorly pivotal plot twist.
The post-credits scene reveals that protagonist Jade's boar-like uncle Pey'j is infected with the alien DomZ spore, which is shown growing on his hand.
While at the time of the game's release this was clearly sequel bait, considering that the currently in-development follow-up is actually a canonical prequel, it doesn't seem likely we're ever going to see Pey'j's fate resolved.
As a result, those fans who actually saw the post-credits scene were left to assume that Pey'j was most likely mutated by the alien parasite, all while everybody else walked away blissfully unaware. Until now, at least.
