10. Jak and Daxter

There was a time in the mid-2000s where the industry was throwing anything at the wall to see if it would stick. What with there being an overwhelming tide of pre-Call of Duty 4 military shooters, such as Conflict Desert Storm, and at the same time others were trying to recapture the magic of the PlayStation 1 era.

Aside from the numerous forgettable Crash Bandicoot PlayStation 2 games, we got the likes of Ratchet and Clank starting to gain steam and Naughty Dog’s second stab at the genre, Jak and Daxter. This series was certainly no Crash for sure and in a weird way was almost pitted against Ratchet and Clank in some sort of fight to the death by Sony.

Years later, we know who came out the victor.

After having such a mixed identity, Naughty Dog and Sony left this duo behind in the 2000s to focus on another little game called Uncharted. Then with The Last of Us soon after it is clear they won’t be going back. That and Sony seemed to have opted to carry on Ratchet and Clank instead.
