10 Video Game Companions So Strong You're Just Getting In The Way

1. Rodin - Bayonetta

Mass Effect 2 Jack
Platinum Games

Look, they don't call Bayonetta's Rodin "The Infinite One" for nothing.

Much as Bayonetta is a supremely powerful, kickass Umbra Witch, she ultimately falls short of Rodin, an exiled demonic weaponsmith who also happens to be the most powerful demon in Inferno.

And if there was any doubt, PlatinumGames themselves confirmed that Rodin is indeed the most powerful character in the entire series, far surpassing even Bayo herself.

Players can actually fight Rodin in secret boss battles in the first two games, though as anyone who's played them will testify, he's an absolute pain in the ass to beat.

This naturally raises the question - why doesn't Rodin get off his ass and just take out the bad guys himself? Well, that's not his style - he's mostly happy hanging out and selling his wares at his bar, The Gates of Hell.

But rest assured, if Rodin wanted to rule Inferno, he could probably do it pretty damn effortlessly - he just doesn't want to.
