10 Video Game Console Features NOBODY Used
9. Gyro Controls - PlayStation 4
Motion controls were first introduced to the PlayStation family of consoles with the PS3's DualShock 3 controller and its much-ballyhooed "Sixaxis" tech, which while rarely utilised was nevertheless evolved upon for its successor, the DualShock 4.
The PS4's controller boasts a more sophisticated three-axis gyroscope and three-axis accelerometer, allowing for comprehensive "gyro controls," yet beyond its inspired use in some PSVR games such as Astro Bot Rescue Mission, developers have taken incredibly spare advantage of it.
Some of the more notable non-VR games to use gyro controls include Days Gone, Gran Turismo Sport, Journey, and both Gravity Rush games, yet in many instances players would be forgiven for not even knowing it was an option.
Given the enormous popularity of gyro controls, especially on the Nintendo Switch with games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2, and Skyrim, it's a damn shame that the feature has received such little adoption on PS4, and as such been used by so few players.
