10 Video Game Cover Mistakes You Won't Believe
2. Final Fantasy VII - A True Masteirp Ece
Finally, a printing mistake that makes all the sense in the world for anyone who's ever had a printer somehow screw up their hard work.
On early printings of Final Fantasy VII for the original PlayStation, a small (but critical) error sees the word "masterpiece," where the "I" has been mysteriously printed off-center, over the "E," resulting in the ironic misspelling, "masteirp ece."
It's fairly easy to "pei ce" together what happened here. The copy was conceived, written, re-written, proofed, double-proofed, and sent off to the printer, everyone at Square Enix (née Squaresoft), confident that all was well.
Unfortunately, the printer had other ideas, just slightly offsetting that "I" in a way that no one would have noticed until thousands of physical copies had already been printed. And by then, it likely would have been too late to do anything about it.
You can almost feel the headaches this must have caused for so many people involved.
