10 Video Game Deaths You Couldn't Avoid
7. The First Genichirio Fight - Sekiro
Throughout the game, you'll generally fight Genichirio an absolute minimum of three times; once in the beginning of the game, once halfway through, and then depending on your ending usually once at the very end of the game, where you fight him before the final boss.
Realistically, you likely face him a lot more, because you'll die at least twice to a mistimed lightning dodge.
But even those who've become hardened experts at the game must die to the swordsman one time, even in a flawless run. Because, painfully, even if you beat Genichirio in your first fight with him - which is intended for you to lose, but not impossible to beat - you still get killed by him, as one of his little cronies distracts you with a throwing star so he can still murder you.
While it's a perfect set up to establish the character and his willingness to sacrifice every moral he has in order to try and do what he thinks is right for his country, it's also undeniably a fight that will leave you salty if you try to legitimately win, because you technically can't.
