10 Video Game Deaths You Couldn't Avoid
8. Seath The Scaleless - Dark Souls
The true bane for those trying to play through Dark Souls with zero deaths comes in the form of Seath the Scaleless, as you have to die to him once before you can really fight him.
While there are technically ways around "dying" to him - such as equipping rings that prevent you from going hollow or losing souls - you still have to get murdered by him, in order to awaken in the Archives Tower Prison, allowing you to continue through the game.
Though many have tried, Seath simply isn't beatable at this stage in the game without cheating, as he's effectively immortal. This is justified, as the Primordial Crystal Seath keeps ensures he remains immortal and invulnerable to even your most powerful attacks.
The most painful part about this is that you can leave the boss fight, as the game lets you decide that you're not ready to die yet, and to nope out of the arena through the fog gate - which is usually impossible. But this doesn't save you, because you still need to get choke-slammed by the scaleless dragon and his crystal magic in order to progress.
