10 Video Game Debuffs That Secretly Make You Stronger

Kitetsu is a cursed sword from Ninja Gaiden that offers its wielder great powers but at an equally great cost.

The sword can be obtained after your second fight with Doku. It deals amazing damage and features a unique moveset, but as long as you keep it equipped, it will slowly drain your life away.

The only way to prevent the debuff is to constantly attack and drain your enemies' life force, and while this may sound like a deal breaker to less aggressive players, there is actually a way to remove the curse, or better yet, make it work to your benefit!

If you equip the Amulet of Tranquility, the draining effect it has on Ryu gets disabled, but the curse still works on your enemies.

You no longer have to worry about slowly withering away, but your enemies still get their life force stolen, which means killing them heals you instead of simply patching up your degrading health!

Come to think of it, it's pretty nice of the blade to heal you, even when you don't let it feed on you. It may be a demonic blade forged with ogre blood, but Kitetsu sure knows how to act like a gentlesword!
