10 Video Game DLC Stories Better Than The Main Game
4. Outlast - Whistleblower
One of the scariest games not only in recent memory but of all time, Outlast generated an overwhelmingly positive response from its player-base for its horrifying blend of jump-scares and methodical skulking.
Acting as a prequel, Whistleblower has players follow software engineer Waylon Park as he attempts to expose the corruption at the asylum (the event that leads to the story of main Outlast game). Waylon is caught by his employer, Jeremy Blaire, and is subsequently admitted to the asylum as a patient. Waylon is a first-hand witness to the riots and murders in the asylum and, similar to Miles, must find a way of escaping with his life and reveal the truth.
In the closing moments of the story, we see Waylon escape in Miles' red jeep, as well as a now-resurrected Miles, controlled by The Walrider, also leave Mount Massive. The story of Whistleblower elaborates on the initial story of Outlast, providing details around the cause of the incident along with a satisfying ending for Waylon, Miles/The Walrider and Mount Massive, making it a must-play for fans of the series.
If you only play these games for the gore, there's also an inmate that mutilates genitals, so go nuts.
