10 Video Game DLCs Better Than The Game
7. Far Harbor - Fallout 4
It would be absurd to suggest that Fallout 4 was anything but a good game, yet its generally simplified RPG mechanics compared to its predecessor also left many feeling a tad underwhelmed.
The third of the game's six DLC expansion packs, Far Harbor, is largely accepted to be the best of the bunch, and if we're being honest with ourselves, it's a refined distillation of everything that makes the Fallout franchise great.
From its gorgeously atmospheric and expansive new island setting to its colourful cast of characters and array of quests which prove more creative and entertaining than Fallout 4's main quest line, this is truly a DLC that feels more Fallout than the base game.
It's clear that Bethesda listened to the criticisms of Fallout 4's launch and endeavoured to make Far Harbor's 10-hour campaign a tight realisation of what everyone wishes the main title was.
The choices really feel like they have weight and matter here, and though Bethesda somewhat cheekily raised the game's season pass price to accommodate how big this DLC ended up being, the fit-to-burst end product speaks for itself.
